20 Senate Democrats Demand AG Blanche Explain Why DOJ Stopped Enforcing Under-21 Handgun Sale Ban
Twenty Senate Democrats, including Chuck Schumer, are demanding that Attorney General Todd Blanche explain the Justice Department's decision to stop enforcing the federal ban on licensed dealers selling handguns to 18- to 20-year-olds. The move follows a Sept. 17 Office of Legal Counsel opinion calling the 1968 law unconstitutional as applied to young adults. The senators want the legal basis and a list of affected cases by Nov. 16.
