Corrections Policy

Accuracy comes first at The Digital Free Press (TDFP). When we make a mistake, we correct it openly.

How to report an error

Email tips@thedigitalfreepress.com or press@thedigitalfreepress.com. Include the link to the story, what you believe is wrong and, if you can, a source that shows the correct information. Every report is reviewed by the editor.

How we correct

• Significant errors are corrected promptly once confirmed.

• The correction is noted at the bottom of the story with the date and a description of what changed. Example: "Correction, October 18, 2026: An earlier version of this story gave the wrong date for the hearing. It is Monday, October 19."

• We do not quietly change facts in a published story. Spelling, grammar or formatting fixes that don't change meaning may be made without a note.

• When a story is updated with new information, such as a comment received after publication, we add a dated "Update" note.

Corrections apply to everything TDFP publishes: articles, the daily news roundup, social posts and videos. Where a correction can't be added to the original (for example, a social post), we publish it in the same place.

Our full reporting rules are in our Ethics & Editorial Standards.
