DTE Energy, Consumers Energy and their parent companies sued Michigan election officials Thursday to block Proposal 2's ban on campaign contributions by utilities, their officers and their relatives. One plaintiff is the 86-year-old mother of a DTE officer, who the complaint says is covered by the ban even though she has no role at any utility.
