Federal Judge Hears DOJ Bid Today to Set Aside Mail Ballots of 20,000 Californians It Calls 'Likely Noncitizens'
Judge David O. Carter hears arguments today on the Justice Department's request to set aside the mail ballots of more than 20,000 Californians that federal agencies flagged as "likely noncitizens." DOJ says California is facilitating illegal voting; the state says the federal list is unreliable and the request would disenfranchise eligible voters. Carter has said he will rule promptly.
