Gary Peters, the top Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security Committee, is demanding answers from DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin about what he calls wasteful spending and a lack of oversight of more than $260 billion Congress gave the department. His Oct. 14 letter cites Gulfstream G700 trips home to Oklahoma, a 12-plane purchase and border wall contracts signed for land the government cannot access. TDFP first reports the letter.
