Justice Department Won't Prosecute U.S. Tech Firm Over Sales to Russian Missile Maker; Agreement Says Company Disclosed Days Before a News Report
The Justice Department will not prosecute Extreme Networks over networking equipment its former Russian subsidiary sold to a maker of S-300 and S-400 missile systems, under the department's first "near miss" non-prosecution agreement. The company will pay $975,721.84. The agreement says the company reported itself only days before a news outlet published, and describes a front company listed as making parts for "country houses."
