Class Action Says State Department Medical Clearance Office Shuts Disabled Federal Workers Out of Overseas Posts at 25-Plus Agencies
Three current and former federal employees filed a class action Oct. 13 against Secretary of State Marco Rubio over the State Department's medical clearance office, which decides overseas clearances for State and 25-plus other agencies including the FBI and DHS. The complaint alleges the office denies post-specific clearances over disabilities without individual review, and agencies then pull job offers automatically. State declined to comment.
