Ex-Healey Aide Charged With SNAP Fraud While Out on a Cocaine Case. His Mother Had Just Won $1 Million.
Federal prosecutors say Lamar Cook, fired as Gov. Maura Healey's Western Massachusetts deputy director after a cocaine-trafficking case, claimed zero income to get about $546 a month in food stamps while his bank account held thousands and his mother, a new lottery millionaire, was sending him money. He was arrested Wednesday. The Digital Free Press has asked the U.S. Attorney's Office and the governor's office for comment.
