A New Look for The Digital Free Press: Introducing Our New Seal
The Digital Free Press has a new logo.
Today we are retiring our original handcuffs logo and introducing a new official seal for TDFP. The seal is navy and red, with "The Digital Free Press" around the edge and our motto at its heart: Hold Everyone Accountable.
Why we changed it
When we launched The Digital Free Press, the handcuffs said something simple: nobody is above the law. That idea still drives everything we do. But TDFP has grown far beyond what it was when that logo was drawn.
Today we publish a daily newscast, regular articles every day, nightly news roundups and TDFP exclusives. We file public records requests for documents and footage the public has a right to see, and our reporting is being shared well beyond our own channels.
As we grow, we want our name to be taken seriously by everyone we cover, every source who trusts us with a story, and every reader who depends on us. A newsroom's mark should say "credible, independent and here to stay." The new seal does that.
What the new seal stands for
The seal is built around three things we care about most.
Accountability. "Hold Everyone Accountable" sits at the center because it is our mission, not a slogan. Politicians, agencies, institutions and the powerful in every party get the same scrutiny.
Independence. TDFP answers to its readers. The clean, classic design of a seal reflects a newsroom that stands on its own.
Trust. Navy and red are the colors of the American press tradition. We chose a timeless look because we want TDFP to be a name people trust for years to come.
Where you will see it
The new seal is rolling out now across thedigitalfreepress.com, our profiles on X, Instagram, Facebook, Threads and TikTok, our daily newscast, our nightly news roundups starting tomorrow, and our press credentials and business cards.
Earlier posts and graphics will keep the original logo, and some shared links may show the old image for a little while as each platform refreshes.
What is not changing
Our mission. Our standards. Our voice.
We will keep breaking news fast, keep chasing the stories others miss, keep filing records requests and pushing for transparency, and keep holding everyone accountable, no matter who they are.
Thank you
To everyone who reads, watches, shares and sends us tips: thank you. You built The Digital Free Press, and this new chapter belongs to you as much as it does to us.
Stay tuned. We are just getting started.
